Create Trusted Migrant Biometric ID for South of the Border Workers.

Nebraskans and others have special interests in farming and other labor intensive occupations who MUST HAVE WORKERS and we have men and women outside our borders who NEED WORK.  Once the families traveled north for field work, and then reversed course and headed home.  They earned enough to spend the winter at home. Without 'welfare' or 'benefits' available to families the families stayed home.  
Now it's different with so many planning to stay, start a family, and never go back.  Some have families at home they may not have seen in as much as a decade. 
I recall consulting at Nova Gas in Calgary with a work visa to Canada and the process was very different than a tourist visa. 
Congress could eliminate many of our 'issues' today by creating a TRUSTED MIGRANT ID. A willing worker from outside our border applies for the ID by submitting to a background and health check.  If he/she pass the test, we give them a special Social Security number in the form of a biometric ID card.  Holding the card allows them to scan the card and cross borders to see a new baby, attend funerals of family, or surprise visit to family on Christmas.
What's the catch?  They must work on the books and we will know if their ID pays no taxes or violates other rules. They must spend 90 contiguous days living at home each year. 
They pay taxes and FICA at work but FICA is returned in 3 payments over the 90 days they live at home unless they used medical while here. Employers will find them insistent that they work ON THE BOOKS.
Because it's good for easy border crossing for life, except for the 90 days at home each year, complying will be self guided as they lose if the ID is abused. 
Packing plants in West Point, Nebraska, may even build dorms for their workers.  Their families will be living at home so their home nation will begin to improve. Gated communities may become the norm, private police and private schools inside their compound. 
Remember they love their language, their colors, their flags, holidays, and their music, this preserves their way of life and we have the labor force we need. 
Senators who can't vote to close the border because their funders need workers can now supply workers who rotate through a nine month work schedule.
The workers can rent a bus and drive to the border at Christmas and spend time with their families. Its win-win vs other punitive systems.  The worker can lose their easy access so will be much less likely to break our laws or try to vote.
Its biometric so can be checked at airports or border crossing and is good for life unless canceled on the computer system for an unresolved violation. 
Hagel was a one term Senator because he rounded up workers in West Point. Sad to say; lets fix the law not continue this nonsense. 
Roofers in Michigan would love to be home south of our border 90 days vs crawling around on roofs in the biting wet cold. Lets allow this to happen legally. 

Who removes a word from a language? TOTALITARIANS!

Who uses Political Correctness to control our language and thus control our very THOUGHTS as we attempt not to offend? TOTALITARIANS!

Political Correctness is an affront to our very first right guaranteed in the Bill of Rights, our First Amendment.

Any WWII movie you can name from the 1940's says, "Come on Boys, let's show em" yet we pretend, because it was once a slur used for adult negro men, it still is. Nebraska's fight song includes 'where the boys are the squarest' speaking of 18+ year old males.

Personally, I think the "N" word, being used liberally in high schools and on the streets by black youth as a replacement for 'pal, or buddy' is a less totalitarian solution than banning a word. Soon the sting would be gone had not the PC police kept it as a slur.

Most who know me well, know my youthful days were filled with a great friend, a 1930's trained cattle pony from Texas, named the N word. Possibly the name came from the Spanish word for black used by Mexican trainers. Who knows. But he listened to me, loved me, nuzzled me to be petted and thoughts of him can still bring tears to my eyes as I remember how much I loved him, yet I'm barred from telling my grandkids. (although I just did)

Alinsky Rules

JFK would not escalate the war in Vietnam, and was assassinated. RFK died after winning a primary that could have seen him in the Oval office investigating his brothers assassination. Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated after making public his opposition to the Vietnam war. I question any 'official' story of high profile murders especially considering their timing and who benefits.

Sen Eugene McCarthy, a democrat opposed to the war in Vietnam, won the first primary against LBJ before RFK entered the race and stated that the FEC was written and passed to limit deep pocket donations to dissidents, especially antiwar dissidents.

McCarthy and Ron Paul's lawsuit, RealCampaignReform dot Org, went to the USSC. McConnell combined RCR with his McCain Feingold challenge and gave RCR attorneys no oral arguments time. In other words, the insiders like the current system as it benefits them.

The League of Women voters were replaced as debate moderators after Perot was allowed to debate with his 'giant sucking sound' if NAFTA passed. Now DC R's and D's decide who makes the 'debates' just as insiders' dirty tricks select nominee.

Too many unelected globalists make very real decisions concerning us vs our elected officials duking it out honestly according to the Constitution. The Bill of Rights is almost non-existent. Political correctness self-limits our speech and in doing so, limits our thoughts.

In 1969, Hillary Rodham wrote a 92-page senior thesis for Wellesley College about famed community organizer Saul Alinsky entitled 'There Is Only the Fight.'



When Hillary was designing her health care plan, I had elected to fly to House Ear Clinic in LA for brain surgery. Her plan had divided the nation into four zones and LA was NOT in Nebraska's zone, That was a very real wake up call to me. By the way, UNMC doctors had a resident phone me and ask about the outcome of my surgery. During my surgery, a doctor from Hawaii, one from Boston and one from Ireland observed. Once a cutting edge technique-like House's Dr. Brackmann is proven successful, word spreads and they come to learn about it. That's the free market of Healthcare at work.

Mainstream media demanded to attend her meetings so she lied about the makeup of her committee stating they were all government employees. When found guilty later, she used taxpayer money to pay the large fine.

Everything Hillary does leads us back to Alinsky. Note number eight, class warfare. Black Lives Matter funded by Soros may appear grassroots yet I question their authenticity, too.

Hillary's History

As First Lady of Arkansas, Hillary sat on the board of Walmart for six years presumably collecting a huge salary while keeping mum about the unionization taking place at the Walmart stores at that time.
Bill and Hill move into White House January 1993, ATF which was sued by Randy Weaver over killing his wife and son in Idaho (ATF settled in 1995,) appears to have planned to present video of Davidians and their weapons store, for an upcoming budget hearing. After Ruby Ridge, they feared losing their SWAT team. The FBI had been called in at Ruby Ridge as it was at Waco to clean up the ATF tax agents' mess. Rent "Waco: Rules of Engagement" and see Sony Bono in action at the hearing after the raid on my birthday, Feb 28th.
Taking video cameras, helicopters from Texas National guard (only for use domestically for drug cases,) forgetting their warrant, horse trailers full of ATF (appr 80) with fully automatics and armor piercing bullets marched on Davidian commune and shoot the Malamute and her pups in a pen.
Koresh opened the door and gunfire blasts up the inside of the door as it opened and he was wounded in the side. Did the Davidians shoot first or did an agent trip or get spooked by the gunfire at the dogs? Does it matter?
The local Sheriff was in tears as he was not asked to escort the ATF or told of the raid. He had an open invitation to search premises. A Davidian money maker, was making plaques with fake grenades 'pull pin in case of emergency' and their weapons' inventory that they sold at Gun Shows. Were Davidians kooky, yes. Did they deserve to be used as actors in a budget hearing video, no.
When the Davidians fired back, the agents in the Helicopters fired through the roof of the building known to contain over 40 children. It was a fiasco not unlike what Syria looks like now thanks to Hillary's years as Secretary of State. The FBI came in and changed the vocabulary, as an underground school bus serving as a tornado shelter became something else.. a half dug swimming pool became a bunker.
Hillary scares the SHIT out of me. No mess is too great for her to create, even world war.
When the OKC bomber was interviewed by Gore Vidal he said OKC wasn't retaliation, it was a threat to feds. You kill innocent children in Waco, April 19th and we kill innocent children in a federal building the same day two years later.
By the way, Janet Reno wasn't AG when the attack took place, it was Hillary's law partner, Acting AG, Webb Hubbell, and was given as law partner Vince Foster's reason for suicide according to his wife, guilt and depression over children;s death in Waco.
As Secretary of State advising Obama on foreign affairs, we used NATO to bomb Libya for weeks, 1000s of bombs a day, talk about terror, and aided rebels who killed Qaddafi.  Using NATO exposed Europe, our NATO partners, to the rath of the Libyans and we have seen the results of the refugees and terrorism in Europe ever since.
Want more of the same, elect Hillary. 

Socialism vs Meritocracy

Who says the public schools aren’t teaching the kids anything these days?

A very large segment of the younger generation obviously finds promises of “free” education, health care, and groceries promised by socialist political demagogues like Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton to be quite appealing. Just as obvious is that they are oblivious to the fact that socialism would destroy their economic future, and their children’s future, and strip them of their freedom, just as it has done wherever else it has been imposed." Mises wrote in his own classic on Socialism, socialists have always employed a dual strategy:
1) nationalize as much private property as possible; and
2) “destruction” or the destruction of as much of the private property/free enterprise society as possible with taxes, regulation, inflation — whatever will work.

Using NATO to bomb Libya opened France to unbelieveable and horrendous terrorist attacks. When NATO dropped 1000s of bombs a day on Libya, that just MAY have seemed like terror to Libyans. When USA is again dropping cluster bombs in Iraq, as seen on C-SPAN recently, Iraqis just MAY have seen that as terror, too.

Our currency is on the brink; how much more can they print before it is completely worthless? A middle class home in urban areas now can cost close to or over a MILLION? Ludicrous.

The long knives are after the second amendment today, as well, pretending to have a focus to save black lives. Read the truth as found recently and published in the Washington Post. Chicago, Detroit and other large cities have failed to keep black families safe from crime.

Connecting the Dots

All these bullet points are fact.  Putting them together, however, I draw an alternate conclusion.


1) On C-SPAN, an official commented that controlling the world's supply of oil was a matter of controlling the refineries as crude was useless without a refinery.  
2) Qaddafi complied with ridding all Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) from Libya when we invaded Iraq.  Qaddafi had crude oil and refineries.
3) From Wikipedia (see below), we learn of a plan to carry Middle Eastern energy to Europe through Syria which rejected the plan. Syria is a known ally of Putin in Russia, providing seaports for the Russian fleet.
5) When the Ukraine fell, Vice President Joe Biden flew to Ukraine and his son, Beau, was installed as a director on the board of the Ukraine Gas Pipeline board. 
6) Russia countered by annexing Crimea, Russia's only warm water ports, after allowing a vote of the people.
7) Qaddafi was elected head of the African Union and was researching an African Union currency similar to the EU. He also had a large store of gold to back up an AU currency unlike the EU or the US$.
Is the world waking up to the debt burden forced on the EU and America citizens by these policies? BREXIT may just be the beginning, and Trump may be a symptom of 'enough unelected globalists making detached decisions about our very real lives and squashing real dreams!'

The Qatar-Turkey pipeline is a proposed natural gas pipeline running from the Iranian-Qatari South Pars / North Dome Gas-Condensate field towards Turkey, where it could connect with the Nabucco pipeline to supply European customers as well as Turkey. One route to Turkey is via Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Syria,^[1][2] and another is through Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Iraq.^[3][4]Syria's rationale for rejecting the Qatar proposal was said to be "to protect the interests of [its] Russian ally, which is Europe's top supplier of natural gas."^[1]

4) Ukraine regime change was aided by Victoria Nuland of the State Department and our Ambassador to Ukraine as we discovered through a cell phone conversation between them.  Their choice as the new leader of Ukraine came to be, the "EU be damned." The call is available on the Internet.
Possibly we assisted in directing the uprising by shooting a few on one side or the other but that is not a fact I can prove.

Connect these dots and a picture begins to emerge. Our actions seem to be directed at a goal of blocking Europe's energy supply from Russia purchased in rubles, and replacing it with Middle Eastern energy purchased in US$s.  By: 

A) A US friendly leader in Ukraine and Beau Biden on the Ukraine gas pipeline board to moderate the flow to the EU,

B) removing Qaddafi ends any plans for a common currency for the continent of Africa and access to Libya's energy from their refineries, and

C) remove Assad to complete the pipeline to from Qatar to the EU accomplish that goal. 

And now this, A Natural Gas War Burning Under Syria adding more fuel to that fire.

The individual as a sovereign, protected from government by a Bill of Rights, is rapidly being replaced with socialism.

I went to Columbus Nebraska yesterday and listened to Gabe Brown from North Dakota talk about his farming operation.
Wow! Gabe is a known worldwide for his innovation in sustainable agriculture.

His story shows exactly why capitalism is so superior to socialism/fascism/communism. Gabe had to overcome the fascism in the United States to progress to where he is in his program. As he progressed he has rejected USDA farm programs originally developed by the socialist Roosevelt administration. (You know the program the Supreme Court shot down as unconstitutional until Roosevelt packed the Supreme Court with corrupt judges.) He also does not participate in the USDA multi-peril crop insurance program that rapes taxpayers. Because of his attitude of being self-sufficient I would not doubt if he will reject the socialist Social Security payments when he is old. (Another unconstitutional socialist program from the Roosevelt administration that rapes taxpayers).

Gabe sort of stumbled onto sustainable agriculture due to necessity caused by nasty weather. What is the old saying; necessity is the mother of invention? Gabe continued his pursuit of sustainable agriculture because of greed. Gabe likes to make money. He said, “I would rather sign the back of checks than the front of checks.”

Because of his innovation and methods of rapidly improving soils landlords come to him and want him to farm their land. He pays 20% below the going rate on rent.

Gabe’ yields are way out producing the rest of his county and he is doing it without purchased fertilizer and very few pesticides. But he does not reject these things because of some liberal anti-progress, anti-corporation agenda. He is approaching this from a standpoint of capitalist greed. That is a good thing in spite of what the lying socialist claim.

Because of Gabe’s production practices (he is not organic) people will pay high prices for his produce in farmer’s markets. He sells eggs for $5 a dozen, bacon for $15 a pound and on and on. And remember his cost of production is lower than other farmers.

This is why freedom is so superior to socialism and fascism. Today idiots call for government regulations to stifle business and innovation. Today idiots call for socialist programs to enslave people. The worst of it some of these people are old enough to remember the Union of Socialist Republics and its failed socialism. Some of these people are old enough that they studied about the failure of the National Socialism in Germany while they were in school. Of course most of the people who are worshiping socialism and believing all the impossible lies of Bernie Sanders are the youngsters who got pure socialist indoctrination in school and have never expanded their learning or learned how to think for themselves.

Stem tide of Illegal entry across our borders using Carrots more than Sticks

First, we must end free stuff. A welfare State and an open border will never work.  This is attracting many non-employable to live off the taxpayer's largess.

Second, create a bio-metric card for foreign workers after a thorough background check, both medical and criminal.  Workers can come and work, leave their families at home and easily get home for events or emergencies.  Today, trips home for even your parent's funeral are too risky.  Some parents don't see their children for years.

What are the carrots for those who comply?

Workers must return home for three months each year or risk losing their ID.  During that time, they may NOT cross into the US but they and their families receive the FICA withheld from their pay in three installments. Foreign families love their language, their flag, and their colors. Their children can live much better at home than hiding in America.  Often these children can attend a private school providing for a much better future for them.

Why would a craftsman, a roofer, skilled assembly line worker, a coder or an agricultural worker not comply?

Checking workers for their biometric ID is easy.  Factories will learn to adjust and rotate skilled workers through their nine months on the job.  Since the FICA will be refunded, the federal government knows who is here and where they are working.

The load on local communities for education and medical care for the families evaporate.

Those without an ID will be much easier to find and deport.  Why would an employer risk illegal workers?  Since the ID is free, the only reason not to comply is obvious.  They have a past criminal or medical reason found in their background check.

I hope someone will comment.

Education ideas, odds and ends

(Suggestions)

Require Public school principals to accept nominations for a board made up only of parents/custodians of his/her school’s students (tried and working in Australia) and organize an election at the end of each school term-one parental vote per pupil in attendance at that school the following year.  The principal and the subsequently elected board determine a budget based on needed materials and resources, and elect a representative to hold an office on the District School board for that year.  That way each school is represented equally on the Board.

Omaha Public School District has been unduly burdened. Keep schools along the Dodge Street Corridor in OPS but other districts can help with administration. For instance, South High attendance area can merge with the Bellevue District, Bryan can merge with Ralston or Papillion, Northwest can merge with Elkhorn and North can merge with District 66, as an example. Elaborate and expensive solutions like the Learning Community are not working.

I recommend a return to the Spalding Method of teaching reading which involves saying, hearing, writing (penmanship) and seeing words and phonic patterns to build a list of spelling words that are understood by the child including how to form those words on paper, read them, spell them, listen, define them and say them.  As their ‘individual’ book of sounds and words grows, "reader texts" may not be required as children may select topics of interest from their classroom's books or public library books. Students are better able to think independently and contribute to current community ideas when they've been taught to read effectively whereas in contrast, 47% of the adults in Detroit are functionally illiterate today.

Offer a boost to Secondary education by offering within the College of Arts and Science, a minor in secondary education. Upon graduation with a major in their field, be it Biology, Math, Chemistry or a Foreign language and student teaching under their belt, the graduate is qualified to teach in a secondary school, Junior or Senior high school, in Nebraska and benefit from reduced tuition at any Nebraska University, to complete an Arts and Science Masters and/or Doctorate.  Students benefit from the quality knowledge in their field and the enthusiasm of an engaged instructor.

Education Stamps

My newest idea for improving educational outcomes in Nebraska is radical.

Model an 'education stamp' on the 'food stamp' program as a way to fund all public K-12 education as required in Nebraska's Constitution. Parents receive an 'education stamp' for each child and present it to the Principal of their selected school. Principals in turn send all students for a State administered test to assess their individual annual average gains on the California Achievement Test. And the State releases the annual AVERAGE gains of students, by teacher for the year, to the local news media. More detail below.

Parents can depend on published results by teacher, a type of Red, Yellow, Green report on student progress, to select a school to receive their child's 'education stamp.' By injecting market principles into our schools, all will improve. Just as no one takes 'food stamps' to a grocery store with browning vegetables, parents will choose schools that work and entrepreneurs will open schools in under-served areas.

Imagine the relief when all the overhead costs justified today by Districts, the State and federal mandates and micromanagement melt away and our kids become great Nebraska scholars again, able to read effectively, thinking and reasoning through the complex problems of the future. Many details must be worked out, such as, a Unicameral committee determining the value of 'education stamps' each year and funds for junior, senior and special 'education stamps' adjusted rates but those are the easy part once parents are once again put in control.

A settling in period can require that private schools must accept the amount of the 'education stamp' as payment in full.  President Obama's girls attend Sidwell Friends which accepted several lottery winners' 50% stipend of average spending per pupil in D.C. Public Schools, or $9600, and added diversity to the education of their other students who pay approximately three times that amount.  Unfortunately, in 2009, Pelosi and Obama removed the lottery only grandfathering in some recipients.

In reading, Teacher  A is able to speed up reading scores faster than Teacher B but Teacher B does not let readers fall behind and accelerates math scores faster than Teacher A's class.  Teacher C’s job was eliminated as scores in reading and math in that classroom fell below grade level. No parents allowed their child to be assigned to Teacher C’s classroom.

Some eighth grade graduates taught in Nebraska's country schools of our past and used the Spalding method.  "Once students have learned the first 30 phonograms, they can begin to read the Spalding Series 1 Leveled Readers. This occurs in Academic Week 10 of the Spalding Kindergarten Teacher's Guide."

Children learn sounds, and create a list of words they know, can read, spell, pronounce, use in a sentence and write and their list keeps growing.  Being in a classroom of mixed age children, drill for the younger students was often performed by the older ones. Every had multiple chances to fill in information they may have glossed over when presented earlier.

Success stories in Nebraska are legend, Willa Cather, Bess Streeter Aldrich, John G. Neihardt, Mari Sandoz, to name a few but remember our grandparents and great aunt's penmanship and English was impeccable. Teaching reading, needed for all the other subjects, isn't rocket science.

Don't be fooled by universal preschool raising scores of the underprivileged like we did all day Kindergarten classes. All day classes doubled the amount of resources required; two teachers and two classrooms, but as I discovered by comparing the OPS 8th grade outcomes 9 years after all day kindergarten, that they did not rise scores and in fact scores had dropped again.  Universal preschool may cause our high school graduates to carry a four year college loan for an Early Childhood Education degree to work in a preschool.

Perpetual War for Petroleum

Clinton bombed Kosovo and Serbia and Iraq for good measure. His sanctions left approximately 200,000 children dead from water borne illness because we withheld dual use chemicals like Chlorine and deprived the Iraqis of water treatment chemicals IN A DESERT!
Clinton's team couldn't manage to find support for invasion at Ohio State:

Bush bombed, invaded and occupied Afghanistan and Iraq, two of Iran's neighbors, and CIA targeted drones bombed across national boundaries.

Obama bombed Libya and caused death of Qaddafi who supported the African Union and selling petroleum products in gold, Hillary and Kerry funded rebels in Syria to oust Assad, and supplied the rebels with weapons (possibly shipped out of Qaddafi's arsenal) as those rebels were beheading Syrian Christians. When questioned about Qaddafi's weapons by Rand Paul, Hillary 'could not recall' whether any were shipped out of Libya & reminded me of the times Hillary 'could not recall' when questioned under oath about Whitewater. The CIA targeted drones kept flying across national borders, and Obama has bombed Syria even without UN or NATO approvals.

And we're now asked to give arms to Ukraine after Victoria Nuland and our Ambassador to Ukraine supported the riots which overthrew their elected leader. Russia's one warm water port is in Crimea, needed for imports and exports, as well as their Navy, so we must have known Putin would attempt to annex Crimea.

Beau Biden is now, after testing positive to Cocaine while in the US Navy, on the board of the Ukraine Gas Pipeline company.

Here's how I put this all together, as it always comes down to money and power in the end.
1) the US$ has flourished when tied to petroleum and is often referred to as the petrodollar.
2) Russian has been a major supplier of energy to the EU flowing through pipelines in Ukraine.
3) Middle Eastern petroleum is still sold in US$s, so a pipeline through Syria (would Assad oppose?) expedites the process of supplying the EU's energy needs in US$s instead of Russian Rubles.

I hope someone can correct me! 

Slip the Bonds

In, High Flight, — John Gillespie Magee, Jr, gave us the memorable lines,

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings"

and this week, President Obama is slipping the bonds of our Constitution.  The voters said no, but like a petulant child, it didn't matter.  We said, we are having no more of your socialist agenda, and he's not hearing us.

Instead, Obama is amassing an army of millions entering the US as undocumented, and adding them to his victim side of the "victim vs. oppressor" scale, the (proletariat vs. bourgeois) paradigm of Karl Marx.

Instead of Ferguson ready to explode, Martin Luther King, Jr., took the high ground of Gandhi and non-violent protests and blacks were on the their way into the middle class until 'the great society' taught many they were victims instead.  Babies and their young moms were snatched from family homes where Gramma and Gramps lived, in the 'village' of responsible grownups and placed in projects, alone in an apartment with their infant, a recipe for depression, where few if any of the adults were not victims.  Generations followed in their footsteps, pushing post WWII, 75%+ two parents in the home, down to below 25% today.

Hayek understood the difference between socialism and Marx.

The adage, "you can't fight city hall,' just became a whole lot larger and more dangerous.

UNSHACKLE OUR TEACHERS

"Whereas, an educated population being necessary for informed voting, civic duties, economic growth and tranquility in daily discourse; and,

Whereas, multiple funding sources originating outside of Nebraska and lacks parental oversight add burdens to teachers in their classrooms complying with various rules and regulations which are attached to said funds, and,

Whereas, these burdensome rules and regulations have caused a precipitous decline in student achievement while simultaneously growing the divisions between segments of the population; now,

Therefore be it resolved, that the Sarpy County Republican Party encourage the State of Nebraska to break all ties with federal or any other outside control of education within our borders; and,

Be it further resolved, that any and all remuneration for education from outside the State is encouraged to be accepted and acknowledged by Nebraska's schools, including private & parochial schools, so long as the funds do not require the school to change its curriculum, add burdensome rules or regulations for teachers, the school, or the district offices." Will be voted on Thursday as a Resolution. 

From 2009 through 2012, PISA international statistics saw the U.S. slip from 25th to 31st in math; 20th to 24th in science; and 11th to 21st in reading. Let me repeat, our teens in the USA slipped from 11th place to 21st place in THREE YEARS.  If you cannot read effectively, you cannot think! 

A Resolution for Enhancement of Quality Education for Nebraska's Youth

Whereas an educated population being necessary to informed voting, economic growth and tranquility in daily discourse, and whereas since the federal government of the United States and many funding bodies not directly linked to Nebraska schools, have become involved in local public schools and the education of our Nebraska children to an invasive extent, scores have dropped, a large percentage of graduates must take remedial classes in Math before attending Nebraska’s Universities, and division between segments of our population have grown, be it resolved that the State of Nebraska breaks all ties with federal control of education within our borders.  Any and all remuneration for education can be accepted from any source by any school of the parent’s choice including private schools, but funding may not be accepted by any Nebraska school when tied to changes in curriculum or added burdens for the school.

All public school boards are to be dissolved, administrative offices used in the future as classrooms, and each public school principal is required to accept nominations for a board made up only of parents or custodians of his/her school’s students and organize an election (one parental vote per pupil in attendance at that school) within two weeks of the start of the school term. The principal and the subsequently elected board write the budget and determine materials and resources required for the year.  Once in place, this election can be held closer to the end of their school term for the following year. All principals are required to teach one or more classes during the school day to keep in touch with students. California Achievement tests are administered at the end of each school term (annually) to determine the quality of the individual teacher and determine their individual bonus by the actual growth and performance of those so trustingly placed in their care.  New students or transfers can be administered the tests at the principal's discretion.
Staff members tasked to individually assist the disabled, in accordance with ADA law, are funded by that federal agency and barring classroom disruption, the child and their assistant may mainstream in public schools.  Impact aid from the federal government for areas close to Offutt reduce the amount allocated per pupil.

All private schools also administer California Achievement tests and results are published in the local newspapers annually next to the public school scores.  If a parent changes jobs and their employer maintains a school on the premises, there should be no barriers for their child changing to that school.  The school day, materials, hours, business involvement, is at the discretion of the each school as long as their overall achievement remains acceptable which is the only Unicameral function, setting the lower end of achievement which may cause a vote to determine if the school is to be closed or a principal replaced. 

I recommend a return to the Spalding Method of teaching reading which involves saying, hearing, writing (penmanship) and seeing words and phonic patterns to build a list of spelling words that are understood by the child including how to form those words on paper, read them, spell them, listen and say them.  As their book of sounds and words grow, "reader texts" may not be required as children may select topics of interest from their classroom's library of books. The board of parents and the principal make decisions on "texts" for young readers, however. Students are better able to think independently and contribute to current community ideas when they've been taught to read effectively.  

Could this work in Nebraska?

Maurice P. McTigue is a distinguished visiting scholar at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, where he directs the government accountability project. Previously, he was a member of the New Zealand Parliament and New Zealand’s ambassador to Canada, and was closely involved in New Zealand’s deregulation of labor markets, deregulation of the transportation industry, and restructuring of the fishing industry through the creation of conservation incentives. He also served as Minister of Employment, Minister of State Owned Enterprises, Minister of Railways, Minister of Works and Development, Minister of Labour and Minister of Immigration. Among his many honors, Mr. McTigue is a recipient of the Queen’s Service Order, bestowed by Queen Elizabeth II in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace. In the U.S., he was recently appointed to the Office of Personnel Management Senior Review Committee, formed to make recommendations for human resources systems at the Department of Homeland Security. He also sits on the Performance Management Advisory Committee for the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The following is [an excerpt] adapted from a lecture delivered on February 11, 2004, on the Hillsdale campus, during a five-day seminar on “The Conditions of Free-Market Capitalism,” co-sponsored by the Center for Constructive Alternatives and the Ludwig von Mises Lecture Series.

New Zealand had an education system that was failing as well. It was failing about 30 percent of its children—especially those in lower socio-economic areas. We had put more and more money into education for 20 years, and achieved worse and worse results.

It cost us twice as much to get a poorer result than we did 20 years previously with much less money. So we decided to rethink what we were doing here as well. The first thing we did was to identify where the dollars were going that we were pouring into education. We hired international consultants (because we didn’t trust our own departments to do it), and they reported that for every dollar we were spending on education, 70 cents was being swallowed up by administration. Once we heard this, we immediately eliminated all of the Boards of Education in the country. Every single school came under the control of a board of trustees elected by the parents of the children at that school, and by nobody else. We gave schools a block of money based on the number of students that went to them, with no strings attached. At the same time, we told the parents that they had an absolute right to choose where their children would go to school. It is absolutely obnoxious to me that anybody would tell parents that they must send their children to a bad school. We converted 4,500 schools to this new system all on the same day.

But we went even further: We made it possible for privately owned schools to be funded in exactly the same way as publicly owned schools, giving parents the ability to spend their education dollars wherever they chose. Again, everybody predicted that there would be a major exodus of students from the public to the private schools, because the private schools showed an academic advantage of 14 to 15 percent. It didn’t happen, however, because the differential between schools disappeared in about 18-24 months. Why? Because all of a sudden teachers realized that if they lost their students, they would lose their funding; and if they lost their funding, they would lose their jobs. Eighty-five percent of our students went to public schools at the beginning of this process. That fell to only about 84 percent over the first year or so of our reforms. But three years later, 87 percent of the students were going to public schools. More importantly, we moved from being about 14 or 15 percent below our international peers to being about 14 or 15 percent above our international peers in terms of educational attainment.

The Radical Individualism of Paul Goodman

Richard Wall’s, “The Radical Individualism of Paul Goodman,” is a beautiful essay that captures the central core spirit of Paul Goodman. Newer LRC readers must be made aware of this inspirational prophetic voice who still speaks to us today in his powerful words and noble sentiments of humane resistance and courage:

How profoundly alien our present establishment is…[…] The term “establishment” itself is borrowed from the British – for snobbish and literary reasons, and usually with an edge of satire. But we have had no sovereign to establish such a thing, and there is no public psychology to accept it as legitimate. It operates like an establishment: it is the consensus of politics, the universities and science, big business, organized labor, public schooling, the media of communications, the official language; it determines the right style and accredits its own members; it hires and excludes, subsidizes and neglects. But it has no warrant of legitimacy, it has no tradition, it cannot talk straight English, it neither has produced nor could produce any art, it does not lead by moral means but by a kind of social engineering, and it is held in contempt and detestation by the young.

The American tradition- I think the abiding American tradition – is pluralist, populist and libertarian, while the Establishment is interlocked, mandarin, and managed. And the evidence is that its own claim, that it is efficient, is false. It is fantastically wasteful of brains, money, the environment, and people. It is channeling our energy and enterprise to its own aggrandizement and power, and it will exhaust us.

Anti-War

They shot JFK, and LBJ escalated the war in Vietnam. When Martin Luther King, Jr, came out with his anti-war feelings, they shot him, too. His family has publicly said the man in jail didn't do it. 

Anti-war feelings grew and Eugene McCarthy [D] won a primary against LBJ funded by deep pocket democrat donors who would be punished by the party if their names were revealed. After McCarthy won, anti-war RFK jumped in and won in California. They shot him, too. Then they passed the FEC which 'Clean Gene' McCarthy [D] said was to silence [by defunding] dissidents.  

An owner of a major truck stop once said that donating to a third party candidate could cause road construction to close his exit off the Interstate for months. Now we know that's never done to punish ... no one would ever close lanes on a bridge to cause traffic jams, right? A woman whose family owned a grocery found their street closed with a 2 block detour for access until their store went broke and her husband died of a heart attack. He had openly opposed the current Mayor as being corrupt and he won reelection.

FEC Campaign records are scoured by people like you and me to find out who funds our favored candidate, right? Wrong; they are scoured by political party hacks. 

Along came the Internet and money bombs, and even before money bombs, Dr. Dean collected funds from the Internet. Those populous candidates are crushed by the main stream media who can take one 'scream' from Dr. Dean or a political dirty trick from Christie and turn it into an anchor.  They miscaracterize Dr. Ron Paul as an isolationist rather than a Jeffersonian 'Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations...entangling alliances with none!'

While Dr. Ron Paul was speaking at the University in New Hampshire, outside on the steps in the falling snow because the room was too small, John McCain was in the State visiting a munitions plant. McCain kept his powerful seat in the Senate signing those contracts over to suppliers of war and won the New Hampshire primary.  

Now, will the GOP do the right thing and let the next Ronald Reagan be nominated. Reagan was not the presumptive nominee, Gerald Ford was, and Reagan won only after several ballots. Ford was a good man but would have either lost or compromised so it would be the same as a loss for the anti-war majority. 

Hillary voted for the Iraq war and helped stage Libya for the chaos and bombing they've faced. We saw not one injured Libyan child after dropping 1000s of bombs a day. What? Hillary directed our ambassador in Syria to assist rebels in an attempt to overthrow Assad. Stop a moment and think: What if the Syrian ambassador to the USA assisted rebels in attempt to overthrow OUR leader? Look at the refugees and the carnage in Syria yet Kerry sent rebels funds February, 2013, and then later sent them HUGE military weaponry. The Benghazi visit may have been about shuffling some of the Libyan weapons to Syrian rebels.  

We invaded and occupied two of Iran's neighbors, deposed Iranians' elected leader and installed the Shah and shot down a domestic airliner by accident. We tell them they can participate in UN talks about another neighbor, Syria, only if they agree to the verdict first; trial later. Assad must go??? what? 

I'm beginning to believe our foreign policy isn't about peace but is about funding the military industrial complex so they don't shoot our elected leaders. And I'm beginning to think NSA data may be more about coercing votes from any elected leaders and/or justices of the USSC than security. 

How can we possibly know the truth anymore?
